ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday received a high-level Palestinian delegation led by Advisor to the President and Supreme Judge, H.E. Mahmoud Alhabash, and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine in their just struggle for freedom, dignity and statehood.
During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar strongly reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance in support of the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He emphasized that Pakistan’s position on the issue has always been consistent and deeply rooted in the aspirations of its people, who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
Condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression in the strongest terms, the Deputy Prime Minister denounced war crimes including genocide, mass killings, starvation, man-made famine, forced displacement, illegal settlements and annexation of Palestinian land. He stressed that such grave violations of international law and human rights demand urgent accountability.
Senator Dar called for an immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories, along with unhindered humanitarian assistance to millions of suffering civilians. He noted that the world community cannot remain silent in the face of such atrocities and urged global powers to take meaningful steps toward ending the violence and ensuring justice for the Palestinian people.
The Deputy Prime Minister pledged that Pakistan will continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Palestinian cause at all international fora. He assured the visiting delegation that Pakistan remains committed to standing by the people of Palestine until the realization of their inalienable right to an independent state.
