EU High Representative Reaffirms ‘immense Value’ of Strategic Partnership with Morocco
The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell reaffirmed on Monday 14/10/2024, the Immense value that the EU places on its strategic Partnership with Morocco.
“The 27 member states wish to deepen the long-range, long-term dense and in-depth partnership between Morocco and the EU,” said the EU High Representative, who was presenting the conclusion of the EU foreign Affairs Council, held in Luxembourg, at a press conference.
“We have established friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Morocco. which we wish to pursue and strengthen in the coming months “he undermined, adding that the EU foreign Ministers had taken note of the ECJ rulings on the EU-Morocco fisheries and agricultural agreements. In this respect, the EU Head of Diplomacy reiterated the content of the joint declaration with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyon, which reaffirmed the European bloc’s commitment to further preserving and strengthening close relations with Morocco in all areas, in line with the “pacta sunt servanda” principle.
“In close collaboration with Morocco, the EU wishes to strengthen these relations and preserve this partnership in all areas”, he concluded.
