Sanaullah directs FIA to probe into Elahi’s leaked audios
LAHORE, FEB 17 (DNA) — Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan Friday gave formal permission to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for an investigation into the leaked audios of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
The FIA has launched a formal investigation into the leaked audio after getting formal permission from the interior minister. The sources in FIA said that the agency has decided to conduct forensics of these audios and for this purpose, the material will be sent to the forensic laboratory in Lahore for audit.
After the forensic report of the audios, the investigation will enter the next phase, the sources said adding that the forensic report will be provided to the Ministry of Interior Affairs and a case will be registered if proven. — DNA
