Aamir Zulfiqar Khan favourite in race for Punjab IGP post
LAHORE, NOV 09 (DNA) — Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, a senior officer of Pakistan Police Service (PSP), is favourite in race for the post of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP).
It is to be noted here that Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has also been the staff officer of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. Another senior police officer, Fayyaz Ahmed Dev, is second favourite in the race for the Punjab IGP.
It also merits a mention here that former IGP Faisal Shahkar had refused to work under the Punjab government, and he had requested the establishment division to let him serve under the federal government.
He had written a letter to the establishment division and requested immediate transfer. In his letter, the IGP had stated that it was difficult for him to continue his current assignments under the Punjab government. He had cited personal reason behind his decision. =DNA
