Two-day 2nd General Conference of Parliamentary Assembly of ECO begins in Islamabad today

Islamabad : The two-day second General Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization begins in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
According to a statement of National Assembly Secretariat President Doctor Arif Alvi will address the inaugural session of the conference as chief guest, scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
In the second session of the conference starting at 2:30 p.m ECO countries’ participants will hold meetings to discuss bilateral issues and prospects of enhancing cooperation at governmental and parliamentary levels.
The Conference will discuss an array of topics revolving around its theme “Promoting Parliamentary Partnership for Regional Integration.”
Speakers and Parliamentarians from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan are attending the event.
The conference will also have meetings of women parliamentarians, breakout sessions and panel discussions for two days.
