Balochistan, merged districts of FATA students end hunger strike
ISLAMABAD, APR 12 (DNA) – Students from Balochistan and merged districts of FATA announced to end their hunger strike here on Monday after an assurance of resolution of their issues by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar.
The meeting was arranged by Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi who played a key role in solving the problems of the protesting students.
The meeting was chaired by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar while Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Khan Afridi, President Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) Dr Arshad Taqi and officials from other relevant departments attended the meeting. Asif Mahsood led the students’ delegation while Abdullah Khan Kakar, Mohammad Saifullah, Mehran Khan, Baz Mohammad, Abdul Qadir, Muatrim, Yaseen, Salman and Raheel were a part of the delegation. Speaker Asad Qaisar directed the PMC to work on a draft bill to facilitate the solution of the problems of the students on permanent basis.
President PMC assured the Speaker that the institution would contact the provincial governments and the issue would be resolved once and for all. Shehryar Khan Afridi expressed gratitude to Speaker National Assembly for holding the meeting on a short notice. He also urged the students to end their hunger strike as the matter would be solved within a week’s time. = DNA
