ICT administration, CDA should keep in view the rights of traders for implementation of its laws. Akram Farid

ISLAMABAD, April 11 : On the instructions of the Director, Building Control, Capital Development Authority (CDA), sealed the shops of more than 30 shopkeepers and tenants in the business center in F-10 Markaz, G-8 markeet, Super Market In which a trader was not allowed to come out, and forced him to languish in side his sealed shop. He was detained and recovered five hours later. The inhuman treatment of the government staff caused a wave of grief, anger and concern among the traders. These views and awareness were expressed by the Chairman Founder Group M Akram Farid in an emergency meeting in which the esteemed Members Founder Group (FG) and Traders Welfare Association F-10 Center office bearers and members also attended. Chairman Founder Group, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), M. Akram Farid strongly condemned the recent stern attitude and action of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the District administration at the F-10 Markaz, G -8 markaz , Super Market and said that taking such steps in the context of Covid-90 was highly irresponsible and beyond understanding which will not be tolerated. He said that in case of any extreme action by the concerned department of CDA, the business associations and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry should be informed in advance so that all such fundamental differences between the two sides could be resolved and the issues could be settled amicably. He further said that Islamabad is the heart of the center of Pakistan and its traders represent the entire Pakistani business community. Therefore, Capital Development Authority should take steps with great care and wisdom and avoid such steps which would tarnish the image of traders and their lives and property. Chairman Founder Group M Akram Farid said that traders are constantly making a name for themselves in their business centers and workplaces but government officials are wasting all their hard earned work and name which is a very painful and unbearable. It is encouraging that in the wake of this unfortunate incident, ICCI President Sardar Yasir Ilyas, Senior Vice President (SVP) Fatima Azim, Convener ICCI Sub-Committee on CDA Abdul Rauf Alam, All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran President Ajmal Baloch and Khalid Chaudhry immediately rushed to the business center and expressed solidarity with the traders. Chairman Traders Welfare Association F-10 Markaz, Muhammad Tahir Abbasi strongly protested on the occasion and said that the CDA chairman should take stern notice of such actions immediately and punish the government officials. At the same time, mistreatment and unwarranted treatment of the government officials in their capacity are tantamount to preventing business activities from flourishing. Tahir Abbasi further said that the government is already formulating anti-business taxes, policies and laws which is of great concern to the business community. The meeting was attended by senior members of the council including Tariq Sadiq, Khalid Javed, Mian Shaukat Masud, Nasir Qureshi, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Chaudhry Wahid-ud-Din, Abdul Rauf Alam, Zafar Bakhtawari, Ahmad Hassan Mughal, Ejaz Abbasi and expressed their vital views for the practical implementation of traders’ right in letter and spirit.

Chairman ICCI Founder Group (FG), M Akram Farid, The Convener ICCI Sub-Committee on CDA Abdul Rauf Alam, Chairman, Traders Welfare Association F-10 Markaz, Muhammad Tahir Abbasi, respected council members Khalid Javed, Tariq Sadiq, Nasir M Qureshi, Ch. Waheed-ud-Din and other prominent business men are present in a meeting which was held to show solidarity with the traders of F-10 Markaz whose shops were sealed by the official of CDA.
