Georgian expert: Azerbaijani Army among the most advanced in world
The Azerbaijani Army has become the most modern and powerful armed forces, not only in the region but also in the world, Georgian military expert Vakhtang Maisaya told Report’s local bureau.
According to him, Georgia can benefit from the experience of military reforms in Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan has successfully established a national military-industrial complex. The country manufactures not only military products but also assembles new types of weapons as well, which are extremely suitable for the present-time military operations. Azerbaijan supplies about 40 percent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces’ demand for military products, which is an important indicator.”
The specialist said that the Azerbaijani state pursues an effective and robust defense policy under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev: “The country’s military strategy completely suits the realities of the new military security. Azerbaijan is undoubtedly ahead of both Georgia and Armenia inters of the regional arms race.
Extending congratulations on the 102nd anniversary of the Azerbaijani Army, the expert noted that the country’s servicemen are essential in ensuring international security and strengthening stability.
“The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are actively involved in the fight against international terrorism and peacekeeping operations. Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey enjoy military cooperation, and the military of all three countries participate in joint exercises. This partnership also covers energy security. Thus, the vastly important regional and global projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, Baku-Tbilisi-Supsa, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, TAP, and TANAP boost the role of military forces in ensuring energy security at the regional level.”
