Ghulam Sarwar appreciate efforts of Aviation Division
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Minister for Aviation Mr Ghulam Sarwar Khan has appreciated the efforts of Aviation Division and its attached organisations. He stated that in the wake of the national efforts to control the outbreak of COVID-19, the Civil Aviation Authority team is discharging its duties efficiently.
The Minister stated that presently International flights operation are running at six airports. Jinnah International Airport Karachi is the biggest airport in Pakistan. Imran Khan, the Airport Manager and Chief Operating Officer is the functional head of the Airport while performing his duties have tested positive for COVID-19. He has been quarantined along with 10 other officials of CAA, ASF and health department working at Jinnah International Airport.
APM and other officials are in isolation and Alhamdulillah recovering. The responsibilities of APM are being taken care of by Mr Zafar Aitmad.
The airport is complex machinery and close coordination and untiring efforts are needed to ensure smooth functioning of various agencies working at Airport. The officers/ officials of CAA, besides other stakeholders, are performing their duties tirelessly to facilitate the passengers. Being at the front line in defending the nation against the pandemic, is a noble responsibility and all agencies working at the airports including but not limited to CAA, ASF, FIA Immigration, Pakistan Customs, Federal and Provincial Health teams and the respective district administration teams deserve to be appreciated and lauded for their services being rendered at the airports.
