Tayyip Erdogan presents a book to President Alvi, PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, FEB 15 (DNA) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has presented the book “Occupying the Century: Palestine under Unilateral Plans” to his Pakistani counterpart, Arif Alvi, and Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Islamabad.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency Communication Department, which prepared the book in Turkish, English and Arabic languages with the aim of increasing awareness of the Palestinian issue.

The book deals with the struggle of the Palestinian people, the stages of the Israeli occupation and its violations of international law, Turkey’s support for the Palestinian struggle, and the details of the occupation and annexation plan announced by US President Donald Trump under the name “Deal of the Century”.

The book also contains the statements of the leaders of the countries, the statements of international organizations on the said plan, and Turkey’s position on it.

In the introduction to the book, the head of the communication department in the Turkish presidency, Fakhruddin Alton, explains the historical Turkish opposition to the annexation of Palestinian lands to the Zionist entity according to the alleged “deal of the century”, citing President Erdogan’s statement: “The announced plan will not serve the solution and peace; it ignores the rights of the Palestinians,  It legitimizes the Israeli occupation. Jerusalem is sacred for Muslims, and a plan to give it to Israel cannot be accepted. ”

Alton stressed that this plan, which violates international law and UN Security Council resolutions, “is doomed to failure and cannot be implemented.”

He added: “This time, the policies of occupation, pain and genocide that the Palestinian people have been subjected to for decades should not be allowed, nor can a real peace plan be achieved except through respecting international legitimacy decisions and within a framework that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people.”

On Friday evening, President Erdogan concluded his two-day official visit to Islamabad, during which he participated in the works of the sixth high-level strategic cooperation council between the two countries.=DNA
