Senate chairman cancels UAE tour due to Modi’s visit
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has cancelled official visit of parliamentary delegation to United Arab Emirates (UAE) after Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi received an honor during his recent tour to the Gulf nation.
The Senate chairman was scheduled to visit UAE from August 25 to August 28. However, the visit was canceled in the solidarity with the occupied Kashmir.
“The Senate chairman, however, decided to cancel the trip as Pakistan vehemently supports Kashmiri peoples’ right to freedom from Indian occupation and condemns India’s atrocities in the occupied valley,” a statement from the Senate Secretariat said.
It is to be mentioned here that Modi was awarded the UAE’s highest civilian honour on Saturday despite continuous Indian atrocities in Muslim-majority Kashmir.
