17 martyred after small plane of Pak Army crashes in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, JULY 30 (DNA) – Seventeen people including two pilots and five military personnel were martyred and twelve civilians injured when a small plane of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed in Rawalpindi early this morning.
According to ISPR, the plane was on a routine training flight which met the incident. The cause of the incident has yet to be ascertained.
Soon after the crash, massive fire broke out that engulfed several houses in the locality.
Rescue teams of 1122 and Pakistan Army immediately rushed to the site and started the rescue operation and the injured and dead bodies were shifted to the Holy Family and other hospitals in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi visited DHQ Rawalpindi and inquired about the health of those injured in Pakistan Army’s plane crash.
He directed the concerned medical staff to provide best medical treatment to the injured.
Emergency has already been declared in all hospitals.
