Businessmen give a warm send off to Tunisian ambassador

 

ISLAMABAD, JUL 12 (DNA) – Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and industry (FPCCI) hosted a grand reception to bid farewell to the outgoing Ambassador of Tunisia.

Members of business community, diplomatic corps and civil society attended the reception in large numbers.

The outgoing ambassador of Tunisia Adel Elarbi thanked the business community for giving him a warm send off.

He said during his tenure in Pakistan he tried his best to cultivate friendly relations with the business community with a view to further strengthening bilateral relations, especially in the field of trade and economy.

“I tried all my best to deepen these relations by taking tangible infinitives in the aim of making Tunisia more visible in Pakistan and Pakistan more visible in Tunisia in different areas”.

The ambassador said Pakistani businessmen are very serious and full of good will to give a shining image for their country.

“I usually said that to Tunisian authorities and I’m thankful to everybody who helped me, during my tenure, by providing opportunities to promote bilateral relations between Tunisia and Pakistan”.

He said he established a Tunisian corner in Pakistani Book foundation in the name of the Tunisian historian “Allama Ibn khaldoun” to give opportunities to Pakistani students and researchers to know more about Tunisian culture.

He said his first mandate was marked by the successful 9th session of the Joint Ministerial Commission between Tunisia and Pakistan which was held in Tunisia in February 2018.

This significant event was a corner stone in the bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries with regard to the important consultations held, the agreements signed in different fields and the comprehensive review of the development of our bilateral relations.

The ambassador further said an important delegation of officials and businessmen headed by the Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Tunisia and met with their counterparts there.

Eng. Daroo Khan, the President of FPCCI in his address lauded services of the outgoing ambassador which he rendered for the promotion of bilateral relations.

The President FPCCI said during his tenure relations between Pakistan and Tunisia witnessed marked improvement.

Later, the businessmen presented traditional Sindhi shawl to the ambassador. The FPCCI president also presented a souvenir to the outgoing ambassador.=DNA
