Sania Mirza posts heart-melting message over Shoaib Malik’s retirement
LONDON, JUL 06 (DNA) – Tennis star Sania Mirza posted a heart-melting message on Twitter over her husband and former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik’s retirement from one-day international cricket.
Sania Mirza said Shoaib Malik has proudly played for his country for 20 years and he continues to do so with so much honor and humility. Izhaan and I are so proud of everything you have achieved but also for who you are, she added.
“Every story has an end, but in life every ending is a new beginning,” she wrote.
Let it be known that veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik’s two-decade long ODI career ended after Pakistan were eliminated from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as he had already announced to retire after the mega event.
Shoaib Malik represented Pakistan in 287 ODIs. The right-handed batsman scored 7534 runs in ODIs with an average of 34.55. He smashed nine tons and 44 half-centuries. He dismissed 158 batsmen as an off-spinner.=DNA
