Modi’s victory in elections won’t be good for region: Hina Rabbani Khar
LAHORE (DNA) – Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has Thursday said that Narendra Modi portrayed a horrible face of India in front of the world, and his victory in the general elections will not prove good for the region.
Hina Rabbani Khar maintained that Narendra Modi and his right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) promoted extremism and benefited from fanaticism.
The former minister further added that Narendra Modi has completely hijacked the BJP, and it would be premature to comment regarding India’s behavior right now. Dialogues with India are in Pakistan’s interest, she stressed.
Let it be known that Narendra Modi looks on course for a major victory in the general elections as early trends suggest his Hindu nationalist party will win a bigger majority even than 2014.
After two and a half hours of counting, figures from the Election Commission showed Modi’s BJP in the lead in 283 seats out of 542 with the rival Congress on just 51.
