PM Imran bars Qureshi, Tareen from issuing statements against each other
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan barred Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Khan Tareen on Tuesday from further exchanging any word against each other.
On Monday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi objected Jahangir Tareen’s participation in official cabinet meetings that started the spar between both PTI members.
He asked him not to violate the judicial rules as he has been disqualified by the court which makes him ineligible to attend any official meeting. He further said that Jahangir Tareen should offer his advices while residing in the background as his presence gives opposition a reason to point fingers at them.
Senior PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen responded saying that he conducts every political matter on the directives of PM Imran Khan. “I am answerable to the premier alone on political matters,” said the PTI leader on Monday. He said that he will continue to serve his nation as no one can deprive him of his national duty.
PM Imran Khan directed both members to end the spar as it is not the time for any differences. He also said that he respects the judicial decisions.
PM Imran Khan acknowleged Jahangir Tareen’s expertise in agriculture saying that Jahangir Tareen briefed him on the agricultural sector and due to his experiece he was assigned a task on agricultural policy whereas he also praised Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s success as the diplomatic frontier.
According to the sources, PM Imran Khan said, “Shah Mehmood and Jahangir Tareen are senior leaders and their opinions are considered important.”
He asked everyone to show solidarity to overcome the challenges faced by Pakistan.
