70% of new schools and colleges built in KPK for girls

Pakistan will not transfer weapons of mass destruction to states or non-state actors

ISLAMABAD, APR 05, (DNA) -‘70% of the new schools and colleges built in KPK are for girls to stress on women empowerment. I would not have been the person i am today, had my mother not been an educated women’. Chairman PTI Imran Khan asseverated while addressing a seminar on KP Education Reforms in Islamabad today.

In a statement issued by Central Media Department Chairman PTI Imran Khan has stated that we have one of the youngest populations in the world and it is indispensible for us to educate our coming generations to make progress. Appreciating and acknowledging the efforts of KP CM Pervaiz Khattak and KP Minister for Education Atif Khan, Imran Khan praised their commitment to reform the education system and resisting pressure. Imran Khan voiced that KP government relentlessly strived for merit based appointment by appointing 40,000 teachers through NTS system and abrogating quota system and political appointments that has been practiced by previous governments. He stated that it’s extremely reprehensible that unqualified teachers should be given the sacred responsibility of teaching our children. Adding to that he stated the quota system is ruining our country and its spawning irreversible blows to the education sector.
Furthermore he stated that the education system needs to be made relevant to our people and it needs to lift our people according to our culture. He emphasized on gearing up English as a subject in higher studies in order to make our youth able of competing the world.
Imran Khan vowed to expand even more resources for education if Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf is voted into power at the centre. He vowed to spend the money recovered from corruption in education sector.

He stated that Pakistan has the highest populations with female illiteracy and marked it an alarming situation. He said that he commends KP government and specially Minister for education Atif Khan for their initiatives in education sector. Every second university being made in KP right now is a women’s university. He added that female literacy ensures the progress and prosperity of a country and a nation.

Namal and Zamung Kor are remarkable and inspirative initiatives for desistence of apartheid education system. Imran Khan added that to educate marginalized classes and lift them to the mainstream is a great challenge. He encouraged best academic brains to partake in working this challenge out. He stated that KP government will set the precedent with a reformed education system for other provinces to follow.
