Govt 100 day show: diplomats complain about improper arrangements
ISLAMABAD, DEC 01 (DNA) – Members of diplomatic fraternity who attended the Prime Minister’s function held to celebrate 100 days of the government, have shown displeasure over improper arrangements and lack of protocol.
The background interviews with the diplomats have revealed that the management of the event did not make proper arrangements for the facilitation of ambassadors and high commissioners who were invited to be part of the show.
Diplomats told that the entire proceedings of the show were in Urdu language and there was no English translation available therefore they had no idea what was going on.
“Maybe the government thought all of us know Urdu very well that is why no proper translation was arranged”, a diplomat said ostensibly in a sarcastic tone.

It also came as a sheer surprise for them that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in his speech did not even make any mention of presence of the diplomatic corps.
“ We were expecting that the foreign minister shall address to the diplomatic community also and thank them for their presence and support to the newly-elected government of PTI, but to much of our surprise he did not do so”, another diplomat told.
Even during Kartarpur Corridor inauguration the diplomats had to face similar situation. The government took about two dozen diplomat to Lahore for the opening ceremony but no proper boarding and lodging facilities were provided to them, according to sources.=DNA
